Hi, I’m Marissa Muraoka
Like many booklovers, I began my reading journey at a young age, thanks to my parents. I love that books can teach us to the see world in a new way or help us feel seen in our current world. That they’re an escape in difficult times and a source of inspiration in good ones.
This love for books led me to the Book Publishing MA program at Portland State University. In my time in the program and at Ooligan Press, I assisted in the copyediting, developmental editing, and proofreading of titles such as The Legend of Sensei Tsinelas, The Blue Line Letters, and The Pacific Northwest Disaster Guide. As Copy Chief, I copyedited all our internal and external documentation and copy and led the editorial timeline for The Blue Line Letters to publication date.
I'm also a hobby photographer (most of the photos on this site are mine!), live-music lover, outdoor enthusiast, and Star Wars nerd. When not editing, I can be found in my big chair reading or playing video games.
What I am currently Reading: Painted Devils by Margaret Owen
